Has anyone else had major problems with David’s Bridal?

I bought my dress at Davids and I’m really disappointed in it. I’m really short, so they had to alter it a lot…the lady was not very friendly with me at my first fitting, and seemed annoyed that she had to change so much about my dress. I was supposed to pick it up today, but the bottom of my dress was completely uneven (after paying over $190 to get it altered!) Also, I bought my dress off the floor, and they told me they’d fix all the beading that was messed up, and they forgot to! So now I have to wait a few more weeks before I can pick it up and I’m very frustrated! Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with them so I can warn my friends not to go there. I was trying to save a few bucks by getting my dress there…I guess you get what you pay for :-/

Ok, first off i’m 21. I’m going to be applying at some clothing stores and David’s Bridal. I am very tall(6’2) so i do not like wearing heels. What type of flats would go good with a skirt suit? I’m thinking of wearing a skirt suit. Would that work? and maybe some pantyhose? Could someone send me some links from stores on what type of shoes i should wear? I know open toed shoes are out of the question since i’ll be wearing nylons or hose and i’ve heard you should always wear close toed shoes to be proffesional

I think if you wear a skirt suit you should wear heels. You can wear a one inch sling with closed toe. You are tall but there is nothing wrong with it. You should embrace it. I am 5’10 and I wish I were taller. Its cool.

I am covering all of the typical MoH expenses (bachelorette party, bridal shower, dress, shoes, etc)- and flying 2,500 miles to get to the wedding… and of course I plan to buy the happy couple a gift- but I’m not sure if it needs to be above and beyond the typical expense for a wedding gift ($75- $150?) or if I can focus on more sentimental value. Thoughts?

A gift that you can afford is what’s appropriate. If you can afford a bigger gift, then by all means, get one. But I’m sure they will be perfectly happy with any gift from you. You should stick to the registry though…

We are having a vow-renewal ceremony (wedding), and I am wondering who usually buys the bridal maids/maid-of-honor dresses? Also mother of the bride/groom’s dresses? Thanks.
