How long after your appointment (or before) began to look for your wedding dress?

My wedding is not until June 2010, my best friend became engaged on Christmas Eve, her marriage is in June, I'll see (she lives a state away, about 300 miles) about a week or two, I talked about going to some shops, girlfriend found out she has not even started looking? (No one to see the whole family is beyond me, same state) lol. Just curious to know when the others began to find their wedding dress. I forgot to mention, I chose my dress, have not yet applied. Oh, it was not for lack of giving (the family is rich and pay for almost every marriage.) I think it's fair that they should not go, she was raised with four siblings (all of whom live here) and have difficulty getting women friends, not close (geographically or emotionally) female family. We'll get on it when I'm here lol.
